Orphans.

Valentyna Butenko

b. 10/15/96
When Valentyna was 10 months old, her mother died. Her father tried to raise her and her two brothers and three sisters. It was difficult for their father to raise them and provide his children with food and clothes. The family was financially troubled. There was constant quarreling in their family. The father died recently and Valentyna was taken to the Orphanage. The girl is very small and frail because of malnutrition, but has a sweet and generous spirit.

Angelina Protsuk

Angelina's mother was an alcoholic and took drugs for a long time. She was not interested in raising her daughter. Her mother pushed her husband from a balcony and he is now handicapped. Angelina's mother died from an overdose. Angelina was sent to live with her grandparents, who took care of her father as well. The girl is very diligent and quiet. She helps her grandmother and uses each opportunity to care of her father. We are helping the family financially and Angelina attends the orphange school program.

Vasul Omelkovec

Vasul is from Kovel and is a pupil in fourth grade. His father died and mother left the country. His aunt was asked to take care of Vasul, but she refused, and gave the boy to his elder brother. The brother was studying and struggled to earn enough money to live. As a result, Vasul was not cared for. Vasul starting attending Sunday school at the Kovel church, where they started to care for him and sent him to the Orphanage. He is a very talented boy. He likes to draw and visit the Christian Club Future of Ukraine. Vasul loves God and His Holy Word and learns Bibles verses by heart with pleasure.

Ivanna Polischuk

Ivanna Polischuk

Ivanna's mother left her when she was a little child and disappeared. Ivanna was sent to live with her grandmother, but her grandmother did not look after her. In 2004 her grandmother was deprived of her rights as a guardian. She is an alcoholic. Ivanna was sent to the orphanage by the municipal authorities. Now she is a student in ninth grade and is living at the orphanage.

Halyna Ahaphonova

Halyna has had no contact with her mother since she was eight. At first Halyna's father was raising her, but then he remarried and began to ignore Halyna. Her father's sister, Halyna's aunt, has been taking care of her since that time. Her aunt brought her to church where she learned of the Orphanage. Since the first of September 2004, Halyna has been living in the Orphanage and is a student in eighth grade at our school. She is a gifted, obedient, well brought up girl. Halyna is respected and loved by her friends and teachers.

Anna Pryima

Anna's parents separated and left Anna and her two younger siblings to fend for themselves on the streets. Anna was brought to the orphanage and shows interest in everything new. Anna likes to draw and has learned to ride a bicycle. Anna lacked love and care and in the orphanage has found a family of her own.

Vladimir is the youngest child in his family. Since his early childhood, his parents haven't been taking care of their three children. Both parents were alcoholics. The grandmother, who is now 84, took care of the children but it was difficult for her. Together with their grandmother, the children went to church where they heard about the Orphanage.

Vladimir decided to move there. On the weekends he always goes to his grandmother's and helps her with work around the house. The grandmother's pension is too small to feed the children, which is why Vladimir is fully supported by the Orphanage. The boy is quick-witted, diligent, hard-working and likes to read. He often goes to church and he likes sports and is good at playing table-tennis.

Petro and Pavlo's father died in 1996 and their mother was left alone to raise four. Petro and Pavlo, twins, have two elder brothers: Oleksander and Mykola. Soon after the death of their father, their mother fell ill and died. Their grandmother Nastia has been taking care of them since that time. Now she is 81 years old. The boys are living in the Orphanage and are students of our school. The boys are active and lively. They like to play different games. They are very friendly. In the Orphanage, the children received their first knowledge of God and they attend Christian Lessons with great interest.

Victor and Victoria's father died when they were seven, a year later their mother died of an illness. The children lived alone. The eldest sister took care of the little children. Now Victor and Victoria are living in the Orphanage. They've made many friends. They enjoy sports and reading. Their elder sister Larysa used to take them to the church where they received their first knowledge of God. Now the children attend Sunday School.

Tania Onychenko

Tania was born in 1990. Her mother died, and her father abused alcohol. He left for Russia with all the family's money and left his two children alone. The elder sister, Vera, currently studies at the medical College. They have survived off of Vera's scholarship. Tania has no money to live. Vera is a member of our church and has asked for help and we accepted Tania into our orphanage. Tania is now in 8th grade.

Natasha and Dianna Patsiuk

Natasha and Diana are sisters and lived in a good family. Their father and mother always took care of them and tried to teach them to follow Christian rules of life. Unfortunately their mother died of cancer and it was difficult for their father to care for the children. Now the girls live in the Orphanage.

Natasha is a very responsible, diligent and quiet girl. She is in 9th grade. No matter what holiday it is, Natasha styles the hair for all the girls in the Orphanage. In the future, she wants to become a hairdresser. She believes in God sincerely and will devote her life to Him. Now Natasha helps in Sunday school. She always supports her sister and helps her.

Dianna, in comparison to Natasha is very active and lively. Wherever she is there's laughter and joy. She is seldom sad. She is always in a hurry to help everybody. She likes to talk and sing. Her dream is to become a hospital nurse. She likes to read the Bible and loves God.

Serhiy Cherkashyn

Serhiy Cherkashyn

Serhiy is a very skillful boy and is very diligent. His parents neglected Serhiy and haven't helped him in anything. He had to find clothes and food on his own. After finishing 9th grade, he has lived with different people helping them about the house. Later on, Serhiy requested that the authorities send him to the Orphanage. He came to live in the Orphanage.

Now Serhiy is studing at the vocational school as a carpenter. "I shall present the orphanage with my first chair", - says Serhiy. He likes to help people and he is very careful. Also Serhiy writes wonderful poetry.

Ivanna has had a rough life. Her parents were alcoholics and neglected her. When her father died, her mother deserted her. It was difficult for her grandmother to support the child. That's why Ivanna came to the Orphanage.

She is a very bright and ambitious girl. Her favorite thing to do is make delicious food. Besides that, Ivanna can decorate cakes, bake cookies and dreams to become a chef.

At present Slavik is in 3rd grade. His life wasn't one of the easiest. His parents didn't pay much attention to raising him. When Slavik was little, his father left the family and went to another country. The mother didn't take care of her son either and got involved with drugs. Because of that, Slavik was sent to Liublenets boarding-school and soon to the Orphanage in Kivertsi.

Slavik likes to read the Bible and knows many Bible verses by heart. He also likes to play tennis. He dreams of becoming a champion Tennis player. He has one more dream - to build many Orphanages for children to have a place to find love, care and warmth.

Alexander Yashchuk

Alexander's mother was an alcoholic and didn't take of her son's education and her own house fell into desolation - she lost guardianship. Alexander was moved to different boarding schools, but such frequent change did not show positive results. Now he has a wonderful opportunity to live and study in the same establishment. His first few days at the Orphanage he was very lonely and withdrew himself from others. Now Alexander likes to be in the Orphanage, where he found real friends and he likes to play football.

Victoria Yatsiuk

Victoria is in 5th grade. The girl's father is disabled (he had a stroke). Her mother has a mental disease and lives far away from her daughter. Her father tried to take care of her but due to his disability, he found it very difficult. That's why Victoria is living in the Orphanage now, where she can study.

Victoria is a very talented girl. She is fond of drawing and likes to study. She is always cheerful and full of energy.

Tania and Halia Romaniuk

Tania and Halia Romaniuk

Tania and Halia and their older sister Liuda grew up in a great family until tragedy striked and their house burnt down, killing their mother. Their father grew depressed and began drinking. The girls were sent to live with their grandmother but the financial strain was to much and the girls were sent to live at the Orphanage. Liuda finished school in 2006 and started working. Now she lives with her grandmother.

Halia is fond of drawing, but best of all she likes to make up fantastic dramatic stories. She likes to live in a world of adventure and dreams. Halia hopes to be a writer and tell everybody about God.

As for Tania, she is a very quiet person. She likes to help others and she enjoys gardening. Her dream is to be a Sunday school teacher as she likes to attend Bible lessons very much.

Volodia Pryimachuk

Volodia is very small in size and has been exposed to malnutrition and an unhealthy environment. Parent's rights were taken from his mother because she abused alcohol, was homeless and often left her son without care. She didn't pay attention to his education and even physically abused Volodia. Because of this situation, Volodia was brought to the Orphanage. The boy is very active, most of all he likes to build castles and fortresses with sand. Volodia dreams of becoming a construction worker. He also enjoys being in the kitchen at the Orphanage where they cook tasty meals.

Sister, Yulia and Anna have led a tough life. Their father left them when they were babies and their mother began to abuse alcohol. She often beat the children and didn't take care of them. Eventually, she left the children without care and most likely fled the country. Having neither proper food, or education, nor a place of residence, the girls came to the Orphanage. Yulia enjoys helping her younger sister study. Both girls sing very well and they like to study. In the future, Yulia dreams to become a doctor, she says: "to help people to be healthy". Anna draws well, but she hasn't decided what profession to choose.

Olia is a very ambitions girl. She is full of energy and likes to sing and glorify God in songs. Olia is fond of embroidery and enjoys walks in nature. She would like to become a teacher. Olia says, that life in the orphanage is a magical fairy-tale. Here she can live together with her brother Serhii and elder sister Liuda. The children don't like to remember their life with their mother. They say that she used to beat them and didn't give them any food very often they had to spend nights outside.

The orphanage for them is not just a roof above their heads but a source of love and care. The no longer have to steal in order to feed themselves. These children are sure that they will always be able to find support and love here. The seeds of God's truth are being sown into their souls. In fact they were children with broken lives. Nobody loved them, nobody helped them in difficult situations, and nobody checked their home life. That's why they were afraid to let someone come into their souls. But God can do a lot. Now they glorify our savior.

Olia, Serhii, Liuda Tyshkevych

At present Serhii is a student of a technical college. He wants to be a carpenter. His dream is to build new schools and orphanages for children that live in the streets and in basements.

As for Liuda, - she is in 7th grade. She has never had good clothes. That's why she likes to change her clothes several times a day. Liuda enjoys sewing and says that she would like to become a famous designer so she will have an opportunity to give clothes to all the children in the world.
